I'm back at it again with some famous last words!
So this week ramped up the work a lot, and I am not backing down on any of my other commitments. I want to see how far I can take that until push comes to shove and I have to start cutting back on fun and put my nose to the grindstone more with class.
Class updates:
In robotics news, the high schoolers I coach spent a lot of time this week writing code for communicating with the robot - not very flashy stuff, but necessary to win. On OU's robotics team, I wrote some software so the robot can plan it's path through obstacles, and the code finally works (or, at least it doesn't crash). I also received acceptances to Boston University and WPI for my masters program in robotics, so I am thrilled. I need to figure out how to afford that, but I'm glad to be in.
My girlfriend, Andrea, and I went out to celebrate - we do weekly dates on Fridays, so it seemed like a good opportunity. It was her turn to plan stuff, so we ended up using some coupons at Chuy's and then went to Bed Bath and Beyond?? That last part was actually for Andrea to run errands, but it was funny that it was included in the night. I've had a tiring week, but so has she - working 40 hours a week is difficult:

Class updates:
- Control Theory is extremely difficult. Who knew graduate classes are hard, right? So the first homework took me 8 hours to do - very very nice stuff right there.
- Computer vision is a blast and my professor's facial recognition attendance software works very well. It's honestly a great way to do attendance because you actually have to be there
- In understanding theatre we took a tour of the various theatres at OU. I also bought tickets to the OU production of Blood Wedding in a couple of weeks for my girlfriend and myself. I'm looking forward to it!
